March 9, 2024. Yesterday we took a trip to Belfast. We got up bright and early and arrived around 10:45 AM. We started off with a guided tour Shankill Road with a loyalist ex-prisoner. There were so many cool visuals and rooms set up that made the experience feel very immersive. We then followed it up with a walking tour of Falls Road with a republican ex-prisoner where I got to write my name on the peace wall. It was quite a rainy and chilly day, but still interesting. After all was said and done, we were given a few hours of free roam time. I walked around with a few friends to Avoca, one of my favorite cafes. Afterwards, we went to Victoria Square, how could I skip that? I have never been to Northern Ireland, it was really interesting to see the difference in cultures and beliefs.
